Zeina Kamareddine Badran
Zeina is an artist-printmaker and a Printmaking instructor at American
University of Beirut (AUB) and Lebanese American University (LAU). She
studied art at LAU and received certificates in Lithography, etching and
silkscreen from Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA). She also attended
Printmaking workshops at Artichoke Printmaking studios – London, and
Lakhim Bennani Edition D’art in Casablanca – Morocco.
Her work is an ongoing experimentation at the intersection of painting and
printmaking. The transformative influence that memory has on identity is a
key theme in her work. The hybridity of the textures and materials that she
uses triggers powerful memories which are very connected to the
architecture of her childhood.
She held several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous collective
shows, most notably at the Biennale Internationale de la Gravure de
Sarcelles – France, Salon d’Automne – Nicolas Sursock Museum, Menasart
– Beirut Art Fair, Voices From Lebanon – Cincinnati – USA, Art 15 London,
IT’S LIQUID GROUP – Venice.
Zeina offers workshops in Etching, Aquatint, Monotype, Relief printing and
other printmaking techniques at Isdar Studio
